FAQs

  • What will I see on the Battlefield Tour?

Alamo History Interpreters will show you the original fort’s outline and then take you through Alamo Plaza, which looks the same as it did during the 1836 battle. The one-hour walking tour also includes the wooden palisade where Davey Crockett bravely fought. Once the tour concludes, you’ll be able to visit two other buildings via a free audio tour featuring the fascinating stories of the Alamo curator and museum educator.

  • Is there anything I need to know before arriving?

If you plan on taking a tour of Alamo Mission, you’ll want to make sure to wear comfortable shoes as all hours are of the walking variety and last an hour. In addition, it’s important to bring sunscreen, a hat, and bottled water as San Antonio can be sunny and hot. Since tours are conducted outside, they may be cancelled because of inclement weather. While you cannot be notified in advance, you'll be given a refund.
